Police have arrested the Vice Principal in Nassarawa State, suspected of raping his female student. </div>

Police Command, said the vice principal allegedly raped the 16-year-old 
student on Decemeber 13, 2016.<br /> <br />According to the police, the man 
lured the girl to a hotel in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the 
state, where he had canal knowledge of her.<br /> <a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />According
 to NAN, the police urged the general public, especially parents and 
relations of victims to report any case of rape to security agencies for
 appropriate prosecution.<br /> <br />Reacting on the matter, Tina Cyril, 
Nasarawa State Chairperson of Nigeria Association of Women Journalist, 
described the incident as barbaric. She said the association would 
monitor the cases to conclusion, and promised continuous advocacy on the
 rights of women and children in the state.<br /> <br />She advised parents to always monitor their children especially the girl child, to guard them against any form of abuse.</div>

Pastor Enouch Adejare Adeboye has retired as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God  (RCCG) in Nigeria.<br />
<br />
He announced the decision on Saturday morning at the Annual Ministers Thanksgiving of the Church in Shimawa, Ogun State.</div>

Pastor Joseph Obayemi, former Special Assistant to the General Overseer 
(SATGO) on Finance was named as the new General Overseer.<br />

Pastor Adeboye, popularly called Daddy G.O by Church members also named 
Pastor Johnson Odesola, who was the Special Assistant on Administration 
and Personnel, as the church Secretary. Pastor Adeyokunnu will also 
serve as Treasurer of the Church.<br />

"<i>Pastor Adeboye was born on March 2, 1942, in Ifewara, Osun State.<br /><br />Pastor
 Adeboye had his B.Sc. in Mathematics at University of Nigeria Nsukka, 
and subsequently got his PhD in applied mathematics from the University 
of Lagos, and worked as a lecturer in Mathematics at the universities of
 Lagos and Ilorin, before going into full time priesthood in 1984.<br /><br />After
 joining the RCCG in 1973, he began working to translate the sermons of 
its then Pastor and founder, Rev. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, from Yoruba
 into English.<br /><br />In 1981, Adeboye was appointed General Overseer of the church.<br /><br />He took over from Papa Akindayomi, who had died the previous year.<br /><br />For three years he performed the role part-time, still lecturing at Ilorin.<br /><br />He finally gave up his university position to preach full-time.<br /><br />The
 church, which was not well known prior to Adeboye’s ascendance has 
grown phenomenally, to become Nigeria’s biggest, with branches globally 
in about 190 countries, including more than 14,000 in Nigeria.<br /><br />Adeboye has stated that his aim is to put a church within five minutes of every person on Earth.<br /><br />He married Adenike, now 68 in 1967. She was born on 13th July 1948.</i>"<br />

General Overseer (Worldwide) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God 
(RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has warned the Federal Government to stop 
meddling in church matters, Daily Post reports.</div>
<a href="https://draft.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><br />Adeboye, who spoke yesterday at the Redemption 
Camp, Kilometre 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State, expressed 
worries over deliberate anti-Christian laws by the Federal Government 
against Christians.<br /><br />The government has been showing increasing 
interest in church affairs. Unfortunately, for us in RCCG, it might not 
be very helpful,” Adeboye said.<br /><br />He accused the government of not 
allowing the church (RCCG) to continue with its stipulated lifetime 100 
per cent salaries to its pensioners.<br />For example, when I decided on 
what will be the pension of our pastors, what I decided is not done 
anywhere in the world. That somebody will retire and continue to earn 
full salaries all his lifetime. <br /><br />This, I started, but government stepped in and made a law that we should be contributing to pension fund. <br /><br />   
 We have to obey and we started doing that. The result is that pastors 
don’t get as much as they were getting under our own previous 
arrangement. But, what can we do? We have to obey the law,” he 
disclosed.<br /><br />Adeboye disclosed that other fresh laws had been 
enacted by the government to ruffle the feathers of the church in the 
country, with a particularly targeted at the RCCG.<br /><br />Adeboye also urged members of RCCG to register as card-carrying members of political parties ahead 2019 general elections.<br /><br />In his words:<br /><br />    "Now there are fresh laws. We have a rough idea of what the law is about. <br /><br />   
 Some people believe that RCCG is becoming too influential and we’re 
going to be more influential. When you get home, tell members to join a 
political party. <br /><br />    Join a party and become a card-carrying 
member of any party. Just join any party. We shall decide issues right 
from the ward level. <br /><br />    If you are not active at ward level, 
you’ll do what they plan and say at the top. Enrol in any party of your 
choice and have a card. When holding meetings at ward level to choose 
delegates, be there. <br /><br />    One Muslim in Ibadan said years ago 
that he didn’t know what’s wrong with Christians; that we help them to 
occupy political positions and refused to capitalise on our population. 
That’s going to change from now," Pastor Adeboye stated.<br />
