The Department of State Services (DSS) has been warned not to arrest 
the Founder and President of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson 
Suleman.<br />
<br />
This warning was given by a group known as the Buhari Support Group 
(BSG), who added that the arrest would spell doom for the current 
administration led by President Muhammu Buhari.<br />
Recall that the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose had in the early
 hours of Wednesday prevented operatives of the DSS from arresting 
Suleman in the early hours of Wednesday but the attempt was foiled by 
the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose.<br />

The attempted arrest was allegedly connected to Suleman’s recent 
message to his members to kill any Fulani herdsmen seen around him or 
the church.<br />
<div class="wpInsert wpInsertInPostAd wpInsertMiddle" style="margin: 5px; padding: 0px;">

But in a statement signed by its deputy director, Blessing Agbomhere,
 the group said arresting of cleric will pitch the Christian community 
against the Buhari-led Federal Government.<br />
The group noted that Suleman’s comments on the killings in Southern 
Kaduna were a reflection of the mind of the Christian community across 
the country.<br />
<br />
The group also urged the DSS to focus on stopping clashes between 
farmers and herdsmen in parts of the country and ensure the security of 
lives and property.<br />
<br />
According to Agbomhere, “Everybody has a right to free speech, any 
attempt to arrest him can cause a lot of setback for the Buhari 
administration.<br />
<br />
“As a supporter of the President and a believer in this 
administration, I don’t want the presidency or the DSS to be drawn into a
 religious battle.”

Citizens Action to Take Back Nigeria (CATBAN), a civil society  organisation, has warned Abiola Ajimobi, governor of Oyo state, to  reopen Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH) or they will "<b>occupy and shut down the state</b>".<br />

A video clip of an altercation between Ajimobi  and LAUTECH students has since gone viral. The students were protesting  the closure of the university for the past eight months.<br />

"In a  statement on Thursday, Ibrahim Garba Wala, convener of the group, said  the governor should also withdraw his “insulting remarks” and apologise  to the students.<br />
<br />
He said that Ajimobi displayed “rascality by  saying all sorts of provocative things, including calling on the  students to start a riot” instead of behaving in a “dignified manner as  the leader and constituted authority.”<br />
<br />
"Therefore, we are giving  Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state seven days to withdraw his  insulting remarks and apologise to LAUTECH students for treating them  with such disdain. We are also demanding that LAUTECH be reopened in the  next seven days, failure to which we would be forced to #OCCUPY and  shut down Oyo state," the statement read.<br />

We also want to  strongly caution the Oyo State Governor from future reckless display of  impunity and power towards Nigerian youths, who are the bedrock of this  nation and on whom the future rests."<br />
<br />
Governor Ajimobi was  surrounded by heavily armed security personnel who were positioned to  shoot without provocation, an obvious sign that the governor’s arrogant,  inciting remarks were fuelled by his belief that he was well-protected  by security agents paid with proceeds of tax paid by those who voted him  into office, who also look up to him for protection and better welfare.<br />
<br />
It  should be recalled that LAUTECH has been shut down for over eight  months due to lack of funding to the university, and as a result lives  of thousands of students temporarily placed on hold.<br />
<br />
“It was in  an effort to demand for the reopening of their institution so their  lives could proceed positively in their quest to better themselves that  the students protested to the governor of their host state that faithful  day.”<br />
<br />
LAUTECH is owned by the governments of Oyo and Osun state, both of which are cash-strapped to run the institution.<br />

After several weeks of denial over the involvement of Russia in the  U.S. presidential election, incoming President Donald Trump has finally  conceded that the Russians actually carried out the hacking.</div><br />

Mr. Trump, who spoke at his first press  conference since election on Wednesday, however denied that he had links  with Russia over the hacking to sway the election in his favour.<br />

When  asked by a reporter as to what he would say to Russian President  Vladimir Putin about the hacking, he responded: “He shouldn’t have done  it. I don’t believe he will be doing it more.<br />
<br />
“As far as hacking, I think it was Russia. But I think we also get hacked by other countries and other people”, he said.<br />
<br />
He  promised to protect the U.S. cyber space when he assumes presidency on  Jan. 20, berating the Democratic Party for doing a poor job in defending  its systems.<br />
<br />
“And we’re going to put those minds together, and  we’re going to form a defense. And I have to say this also — the  Democratic National Committee was totally open to be hacked.<br />
<br />
“They  did a very poor job. They could have had hacking defense, which we had.  And I will give Reince Priebus credit because when Reince saw what was  happening in the world and with this country, he went out and went to  various firms and ordered a very, very strong hacking defense.<br />
<br />
“And  they tried to hack the Republican National Committee, and they were  unable to break through. We have to do that for our country. It’s very  important.”<br />
<br />
The President-elect, however, dismissed reports that Russia had his dossiers, saying they would have released it if they had.<br />
<br />
“Well,  you know, President Putin and Russia put out a statement today that  this fake news was indeed fake news. They said it totally never  happened.<br />
<br />
“Now somebody would say, “oh, of course he’s going to  say that” — I respected the fact that he said that. And I will be  honest, I think if he did have something they would have released it.  They would’ve been glad to release it.”<br />
<br />
He also, in a rare case, condemned Mr. Putin’s action, saying “hacking is bad” and that he should not be doing it.<br />
“He  shouldn’t be doing it. He won’t be doing it. Russia will have much  greater respect for our country when I’m leading than when other people  have led it. You will see that.<br />

The ex-president explained that the actions recommended in the report
 would be implemented in all the 36 states including the FCT from 
January 2017. He added that the forum would support, encourage and 
monitor progress in the four pilot states, disclosing that the governors
 of these states have agreed to implement the Zero Hunger Roadmap.<br />

Obasanjo further explained that the forum has put a time frame for 
the achievement of the goals, explaining that by January 2019 eight more
 states would be added to the focal states and by January 2021 all 36 
states plus Abuja would be included.
